There's double disappointment for Burton

HOCKEY: Burton Men's firsts lost to University of Nottingham and Old Silhillians in their weekend double header.
-
At Nottingham, the game started in frantic fashion. A long aerial was chucked into Burton's D from the push back, and the resulting shot was well saved by keeper Toby Laughlin.
The hosts pressed high but left space in behind, so if Burton could beat a line or two of that press, they had a lot of room to work with.
Despite good breakaways from the young forward line of Matt Ball, Ben Blakeman and Luke Dunne, the final ball or touch was lacking and the home keeper wasn't really troubled.
Pressure from the home side at the other end of the pitch did eventually lead to a goal, which was deflected over Laughlin.
Burton started the second half well and were able to create better chances.
Some big opportunities went begging, but the visitors eventually had their goal when a through ball by Matt Taylor found a marauding Dave Watkins, who squared it for Blakeman to score.
