Sea cadet wins Captain's Medal after his 50 years of service as a volunteer

A BURTON sea cadet has been honoured for giving 50 years of adult volunteer service.
Major (SCC) Ian Machin RMR was awarded the Captain’s Medal in recognition of his half a century of making a difference to the Sea Cadet Corps and Royal Marines Cadets at a presentation evening held at Ashfield House on Ashby Road.
The presentation took place as part of an awards evening which celebrated cadets’ achievements across paddle sports, seamanship, drill and first aid, and was hosted by Swadlincote rail maintenance firm MTMS.
