SPECIES NEVER BEFORE SEEN IN COUNTY AMONG 1,430 DIFFERENT SIGHTINGS IN 2025 CITY NATURE CHALLENGE
ANIMAL lovers in Staffordshire have been thanked for helping to record more than 1,000 wildlife sightings for the 2025 City Nature Challenge.
This was the third time Staffordshire residents have participated in the challenge, with 167 people recording 1,430 different species during the challenge’s four days.
Among the top nature finds were a darkling beetle, which has never been recorded in the county before, and a Welsh oak longhorn beetle, which has only been recorded in Staffordshire six times previously.
