Picking up where they left off was the best bit about this Brewers' win

THERE was so much to enjoy and take encouragement and satisfaction from in Burton Albion's opening day win against Mansfield Town on Saturday.
Charlie Webster's wonderful two goals were up there with anything as good as we will see all season but what I think I liked most about the whole day and the performance was the sense of the Brewers simply taking care of business.
The goals apart, there was nothing flashy about this win, nothing that suggested Albion will take League One by storm well, we wouldn't expect them to and nothing that suggested they will struggle.
What it suggested was that they picked up where they left off under Gary Bowyer last season, applying his principles, working hard for him and getting the job done.
Most supporters will be satisfied with that if it carries on all season and Burton do not have a fifth straight season of struggle.
Here were some of the talking points from the day.
No hype but more people were there
Last season's opening day came with lashings of hype as fans were urged to "pack the Pirelli" and a new era was ushered in under the new owners, the Nordic Football Group.
Expectations were through the roof and a crowd of 5,027 were there.
The game itself was explosive, especially in a first half in which both sides took the lead and went in at the break at 2-2, which might have been 4-4, before Lincoln edged it 3-2.
This time, the buildup has been more measured under the same owners but with a new administrative team.
It has not all been plain sailing off the field, with some redundancies among the staff and an FA investigation into last year's transfer dealings.
And yet... Saturday's attendance was higher than last year's at 5,170.
