RAMS KEEPER SHINES IN FIRST START FOR HIS COUNTRY

- By LEIGH CURTIS @LeighCurtis_DT

JACOB Widell Zetterstrom’s stock continues to rise at Derby County and he has also made a huge impression on the international stage.

The popular goalkeeper was handed his Sweden debut for the 1-1 draw against Slovenia as they finished bottom of their World Cup qualifying group.

Zetterstrom’s performance won plenty of admirers as he carried on his fine club form, which earned him a nomination for a Championship player of the month award.

And he marked his full international debut by hitting the right notes afterwards as well, when the new players were required to sing a song in front of their teammates.

Against Slovenia, a couple of acrobatic saves caught the eye and as far as international debuts go, the only drawback was that he could not crown it with a win.

“It was a lot of fun,’ Zetterstrom told VK after the game, which was watched by his family in the stands.

“Really special for me with my competitive debut in the national team.
