THE number of residents making complaints to East Staffordshire Borough Council rose last year, according to new figures.
The latest data presented to cabinet members earlier this week show the number of complaints increased from 41 to 49.
Despite this, council officers told leaders of the authority it was not all bad news. In the year 2024 to 2025, there has been a fall in the number of cases escalated to the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman, which fell from 10 to eight, and only one complaint was upheld.
The upheld complaint relates to a decision in August 2024 in which mistaken identity caused a person to be placed on the council's violent and threatening behaviour register.
