Fine individual athletic displays as Burton finish second at Moorways

BURTON athletes made the short trip to the Moorways Stadium in Derby for the second Youth Development north east league match.
The Under 20 100 metre men's race saw Blayn Ganley finish in second place in 11.91 and Keiran Janes fifth in the B race with 13.74. Both sprinters had to contend with strong headwinds.
The 200 metres saw Kamil Kolodziej sixth in 24.63 and Janes take fifth in 25.92 after his 100 metre exploits.
The 400m saw Kolodziej fifth in 55.45 after his sixth place finish in the 200 metres and Frank Moss fourth in 75.62.
Euan Hallows made his debut in the 800 metre and he finished sixth in 2.35.38. Kolodziej finished fourth in the three kilometres in 9.56.55 while Hallows was second in the B race with 11.47.28.
Kolodziej then finished second in the high jump with 1.65. Ganley won the shot with 7.64 with George Kugelmann winning the B event with 7.14 and he was third in Javelin with 24.32.
There was a double win in the discus with Kugelmann recording 39.66 to almost get the school entry standard and Hollows 15.05.
The 100 metre relay team then rounded off the day by taking fourth place in 53.1.
