Supa Nova is the new graphic novel taking the indie book scene by storm. Creator CHANTÉ TIMOTHY tells us about it...

- DAISY FOX Family Time Correspondent

Drawing on inspiration!

How do you decide what you want to draw and write about? I drew a picture of a little scientist that turned out to be Supa Nova all the way back in 2019, but she had no story. All I knew was that she liked science and to invent things.

I love to learn about trivial facts and scientific discoveries, when I found out about the plastic-eating meal worms and mushrooms it all clicked. Nova had her first of many adventures.

They say write about things that interest you, that's how I came about writing Supa Nova.

How did you get good at drawing?

I drew LOADS. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember and most of the time I was terrible. But it was always fun. I practised and practised, drawing things I had around me, people I knew and I learnt drawing techniques from others online.
