PRIMARY AT HOUSING SITE TO BE CALLED FLYING HIGH ACADEMY
A NEW primary school in South Derbyshire has been given a name ahead of its planned opening in September next year.
Situated on Marley Way in the Drakelow Park housing development, the school has been given the name Drakelow Park Flying High Academy.
Following a rigorous tendering process, Derbyshire County Council, with backing from the Department for Education, appointed the Flying High Partnership to run the school, which will accommodate up to 420 pupils.
Chris Wheatley OBE, chief executive officer of the partnership, said: “We're proud to be collaborating with Derbyshire County Council on the development of a brand-new school in Drakelow Park.
“This cutting-edge facility is being thoughtfully designed to provide an ideal setting where local children can thrive, learn, and grow.”
