Wells admits his future at Ashton Gate looks 'very uncertain'

LIAM Manning has shared the latest on Nahki Wells’ contract situation at Bristol City, admitting that he is unable to provide any clarity on the forward's future at Ashton Gate “at this point” with discussions needing to happen before a decision is made, writes Daniel Carter.
The Robins’ campaign came to an end in a disappointing fashion as they suffered a 6-0 aggregate defeat to Sheffield United in the play-off semi-finals. Goals from Kieffer Moore, Gustavo Hamer and Callum O'Hare were enough to put the tie beyond doubt in the second leg at Bramall Lane, with Chris Wilder's side now set to meet Sunderland in the Wembley final next weekend.
Wells was leading the line for the Reds on Monday evening and played an important role in the Robins’ positive start, linking up well with both Scott Twine and George Earthy to test Michael Cooper in the Blades’ net on a couple of occasions before making way for Harry Cornick in the 80th minute.
Should the 34-year-old’s contract not be renewed at Ashton Gate, the defeat at Bramall Lane will be the Bermudian international’s last game as a City player, having made the move to BS3 in January of 2020.
