Veteran gets 'world's strongest bionic arm'

A BRISTOL robotics firm has created a world-first “hero” bionic arm, whose design and strength are transforming the life of a former US Army combat veteran.

Open Bionics, based in All Saints Street, has fitted the Hero RGD - described as the world's strongest bionic arm - to Danielle Green, 48, who lost her left arm in a rocket-propelled grenade attack in Baghdad 20 years ago.
The company spent more than four years and £2 million developing the rugged new limb, incorporating feedback from more than 1,000 amputees globally.
