SEX Education star Asa Butterfield, Trainspotting’s Jonny Lee Miller and Adolescence actress Christine Tremarco are among the newly announced cast members joining the Beatles series Hamburg Days.

The actors will appear in the upcoming six-part BBC TV series which will tell the story of the band’s early days in Germany and follow their transformation from a group of teenagers into the world’s biggest band.

The series will see Butterfield, 29, portray Beatles manager Brian Epstein who managed the group from 1961 until his death in 1967.

Miller, 53, will portray Jim McCartney, the father of Sir Paul McCartney with Tremarco, 49, playing John Lennon’s guardian, Aunt Mimi. The role comes after Tremarco won her first Bafta TV award for her role in the hit Netflix series Adolescence.

Other stars joining the cast include Irish actor Louis McCartney who will play Sir Ringo Starr while A Thousand Blows actress Darci Shaw will portray Cynthia Lennon.
