M&S is back Opening of store marks retailer's return

CABOT Circus' new flagship Marks and Spencer opens at 9am today as the company makes a welcome return to the city centre.

The retailer announced its plans to take over the former House of Fraser unit in July 2024.
And now, following an extensive £21 million refurbishment, it will finally open - just in time to make the most of the busiest part of the retail year.
Bristol shoppers have been calling for the return of M&S to the city centre since the closure of the Broadmead branch in 2022.
The decision to return to the heart of Bristol's shopping district indicates a change of approach from bosses, who previously appeared to be reducing their traditional high street footprint in favour of online and out-of-town shops. It is one of 16 new stores opening this financial year.
