SHIPLAKE has had to settle for second in both of his outings this year and can enjoy his moment in the spotlight in the Go-Racing-In-Yorkshire Summer Festival Handicap at Doncaster.
Well beaten on deep ground at Newbury on his juvenile bow last year, he got a victory on the board when tried on the all-weather at the backend of 2024, narrowly prevailing from a subsequent winner.
That run saw him begin handicap life last month from a mark of 75, going down by just over a length from that perch and the same again when raised a further 2lb.
