'End of an era' Brides' dismay as Ex Service Club announces closure

A NUMBER of Bristol brides have had their wedding reception plans thrown into doubt after a South Bristol social club announced its sudden closure.
After days of speculation around the future of the Bedminster Down Ex Service Club, located in Winford Grove, a post on the social club's Facebook page confirmed the news that the venue would be closing with immediate effect.
The message, which was posted by 'anonymous participant' on Thursday said: "With regret, the Bedminster Down Ex Service Club will be closing as of 11pm on Thursday, April 17.
"We would like to thank all of our members and guests for their continued support throughout the years."
The news of the closure was met with dismay by the community and especially those who have events booked at the centre including a number of devastated brides.
