Aviation Airfield museum lands historic engines

A MAJOR collection of historic Rolls-Royce aircraft engines, including models that powered the Vulcan bomber and the iconic Concorde, is to be housed in a newly developed museum store at Aerospace Bristol.
The museum, located on the historic Filton airfield, is working with Rolls-Royce and the Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust to transform Hangar 16R into a permanent home for the aerospace collection. The initiative, named 'Hangar 16R: Home of the Rolls-Royce Aerospace Collection,' will open up a wide range of previously unseen artefacts to the public for the first time.
The development is being funded by a £180,000 donation from Rolls-Royce plc to the Bristol Aero Collection Trust, the charity that operates Aerospace Bristol.
