LIDDARD DETERMINED TO SET UP BRITISH TITLE SHOT
GEORGE Liddard believes that he has what it takes to become the British and Commonwealth middleweight champion by the end of the year.
The Billericay Bomber defends his Commonwealth Silver title at the Copper Box in London on May 17 against Aaron Sutton, in a bout which will also be an eliminator for the British crown.
On the same Matchroom promoted card, which is being broadcast live on DAZN and headlined by Romford heavyweight Johnny Fisher in his rematch with Dave Allen, Kieron Conway defends his Commonwealth title against Gerome Warburton in a 12-round fight which will also be for coveted Lonsdale belt.
And the 23-year-old Billericay feels that should he wins his fight against Sutton, that he deserves to be next in line for the British and Commonwealth titles despite former European champion Tyler Denny calling for be next in line after he got back to winning ways earlier this month.
"I didn’t see the Tyler Denny fight. He had the European [title], I think I deserve the shot after this British title eliminator, I have also got the Commonwealth silver so that makes me mandatory for the Commonwealth,” Liddard said.
