PILGRIMS' POOR SHOW IN LOSS AT RELEGATED MAIDHEAD
GRAHAM Coughlan described Boston United's final-day performance as "embarrassing" after losing 3-0 away at relegated Maidenhead United.
The Pilgrims had confirmed their survival in the National League in the previous game to complete a remarkable turnaround, but the season ended on a sour note.
Maidenhead needed to win to have any chance of survival, but they went down anyway despite pummelling Boston, who did not show the same characteristics that had pulled them out of danger.
Knowing safety was secure, Coughlan rotated his team to give others a chance from the start, and ended up learning a lot about certain players as he now starts to think about the future.
