£20,000 AWARD HELPED FUND NEW FACILITY
TEENAGERS in Boston with an interest in seafaring are celebrating a new boathouse for their activities.
Boston has an active branch of the Sea Cadets and the team now has a new boathouse at the Within Sailing Club boat station after receiving a contribution of £20,000.
Just like other branches all around the country, Boston Sea Cadets is different from school. There's a lot of learning.
But that learning is done through activities on the water and off the water and the volunteers lead by example.
It's also different from home, cadets have fun while taking a break from screens and from being cooped up inside.
The activities they take part in are built on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy.
Sailors and their work at sea inspires the work of the sea cadets and their commitment to supporting young people today.
Teenagers meet other cadets at events around the UK, and on trips abroad.
