Plan for Alyth solar farm lodged with PKC

Plans for a solar farm on agricultural land west of Alyth have been lodged with PKC.

Greentech Invest UK (14) Limited is proposing to instal a 49.9MW solar farm at West Pitnacree Farm comprising ground mounted solar arrays, inverters, substation, ancillary buildings, fencing, CCTV cameras, vehicular access tracks and associated works.
It will comprise rows of fixed array solar panels mounted on metal rack frames with stilts. The maximum height of the panels will be 3.5m, with the rows set between 3.5m and 4.5mapart.
The development-covering approximately 205 acres-would be in operation for 40 years, after which it would be decommissioned, and the land returned as agricultural farmland.
