Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust chief executive also issued a statement after being asked about the catalogue of serious incidents at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

She highlighted increasing demand for the trust's services as one reason for some of the incidents and praised dedicated staff, as well as "the support our community gives us".
Mrs Oldham added: "We strive to get things right, first time, for all those who use our services, and when we get things wrong and let people down we examine where we went wrong so we can learn and improve.
