Operatic society bringing new twist to Lloyd Webber classic

This week sees the triumphant return of Jesus Christ Superstar (the hit rock opera that is) written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice in the1970s.
The story is loosely based on the Gospel accounts, interpreting the psychology of Jesus and other characters, with much of the plot centred on Judas.
It is being staged at the Marine Hall by Thornton Cleveleys Operatic Society and features the cream of North West talent. The society staged the musical in 2016 and have brought it back to the theatre by popular demand.
