Mothballed for more than fifty years - but sports car will ride again

Rare Midlands-made two seater restored

BACK in the summer of 2022 we took a look at some hand-drawn artwork from the long-lost Stourbridge print firm of J Thomas Ford.

Among the many illustrations was one of an unidentified 1960s sports car, which was subsequently identified for us by readers as an EB60 Sports.

Though not hailing from the Black Country, it was Midlands-made, just up the road in Stoke on Trent, by the firms of Edwards Bros Ltd.

Reader David Cooper, of Tipton, identified the rare two-seater, and told us:

"This car was bought as a glass fibre body shell and was made to fit any Ford 8 and 10 built between 1938 and 1958. It sold for around £39 as a self-build kit."

You might think that your chances of seeing a surviving EB60 would be very slim and you'd be right.
