More Paterson patient inquests are opened

A FURTHER two inquests have been opened and adjourned into the deaths of former patients of disgraced breast surgeon Ian Paterson.

Paterson is serving a 20-year prison sentence after being found to have carried out unnecessary procedures on more than 1,000 breast cancer patients over 14 years.
The consultant breast surgeon, who was employed by the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and practised at Spire Parkway and Spire Little Aston between 1997 and 2011, was convicted of 17 counts of wounding with intent and three counts of unlawful wounding and sentenced in 2017.
