Heroic girl, 14, saved bus passenger’s life

Layla Warren, 14, was travelling home on the 101 bus from a friend’s birthday in Birmingham on July 1 of this year when she noticed a young woman collapse.

‘The woman was suffering a complex epileptic seizure and had stopped breathing onboard.

‘The bus driver had dialled 999, but “calm and courageous” Layla “seized control of the emergency” and performed CPR.

Guided by the responder over the phone, the collected teen managed to revive the 22-year-old woman who had collapsed. The actions that Layla performed directly saved the woman's life.
