140-year-old firm files for administration

A LONGSTANDING Birmingham jewellery maker has filed for administration.

The Birmingham jewellery giant WH Darby, based in the City’s Jewellery Quarter, has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators.

The Birmingham company, which makes bespoke ceremonial items, has appointed administrators through law firm Trowers & Hamlins.

The firm employed 41 people in 2023, according to its most recent accounts.
