Tribute to golfer who collapsed on course

TRIBUTES have been paid to a much-loved Birmingham grandad who died after collapsing on a golf course.
John Bardsley was a member at Moor Hall Golf Club in Sutton Coldfield and was playing in the England Captains South regional final at Knole Park Golf Club in Sevenoaks, Kent, on Wednesday when he collapsed at the 16th hole.
Paramedics arrived within minutes but nothing could be done to save the 62-year-old, who lived near Bassetts Pole, Sutton Coldfield.
Mr Bardsley had been a captain at Moor Hall for two years and had previously played for Sutton United FC and Four Oaks Saints Cricket Club, among other teams.
His son, Rob Bardsley, told the Mail his dad’s cause of death had yet to be confirmed.
