Tomoki Iwata is targeting another promotion push
BLUES midfielder Tomoki Iwata has echoed the sentiments of chairman Tom Wagner that promotion to the Premier League will be the main focus next season, despite the club having only just returned to the Championship.
Blues, who circled the relegation plughole for years before finally succumbing to the drop into League One last summer, are back in the second tier with more than mere survival on their minds ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
Indeed, having broken EFL records when posting a 111-point total in League One, they are aiming to carry that momentum over to next term.
Iwata, a 2024 summer signing from Celtic, was largely excellent last year, a crucial component of Chris Davies’ winning machine alongside counterpart Paik Seung-ho.
