WOLVES head coach Vitor Pereira insists the Carabao Cup win over Everton shows they can compete in the Premier League.

- By DAN NEWBOULD

Despite knocking two top-tier teams out of the competition - West Ham being the other - Wolves have lost all five of their league games and sit bottom of the table.

But Marshall Munetsi’s 29th-minute goal and Tolu Arokodare’s late strike at Molineux earned them a second victory in the tournament and booked their place in the fourth-round draw.

Wanderers had previously failed to keep a clean sheet this season but frustrated an Everton side who threw on Jack Grealish, Beto, Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in search of an equaliser in the second half.

Pereira believes Tuesday night's victory can change ‘everything’ for his side. “It was nice to see the players with confidence, playing good football, good pressure, controlling the game, character, team spirit,’ he said.
