Setback for project as thieves steal blossom tree

Birmingham Mail

July 04, 2025

ONE of the trees planted to form a ring of blossom around Birmingham has been stolen.

- ROBSON MCCALLISTER

The National Trust, which installed the tree in 2023, said it was disappointed at the news, which is the latest setback to the Blossom Together project launched on the One Show.

In early 2023, two plum trees were planted and filmed on the BBC1 programme to celebrate the National Trust project.

However, one snapped in two and the remaining tree was mown over when grass was cut later the same year.
