Boubacar Kamara scored the only goal of the game in the 67th minute, rifling the ball into the top corner with his weaker left foot from outside the box.

Unai Emery’s side have now won 30 matches in all competitions in 2025 and have lost just one of their last 25 Premier League home games.

Villa came closest to opening the scoring in the early stages when Lucas Digne’s free-kick delivery caused problems for Wolves.

Norwegian wing-back David Moller Wolfe almost turned the ball into his own net as it came off his shoulder from Digne’s cross before bouncing off the crossbar.

After that, Wolves created the better chances. Striker Jorgen Strand Larsen thought he had broken the deadlock in the 17th minute after turning the ball past Emi Martinez, having been found by Jackson Tchatchoua.

However, the offside flag was raised shortly after, with Jhon Arias deemed to be obstructing Martinez's view.

Tchatchoua continued to find joy down the right and later in the first half picked out Strand Larsen again, but this time Martinez managed to palm the forward’s effort wide.

From the resulting corner, Martinez produced a tremendous save to deny Yerson Mosquera, who headed the ball unchallenged from the set-piece.

Wolves entered the match winless in their first 12 Premier League games of the season, having picked up just two points - the third-lowest total after 12 games in English topflight history, behind Manchester United in 1930-31 and Sheffield United in 2020-21.
