No fines issued for parents leaving car running

A WEST Midlands council which threatened parents with fines for breaking a little-known driving rule on the school run hasn't issued a single penalty over the last 12 months.

Parents in Dudley were urged not to leave their cars idling - keeping the engine running when parked up - to reduce pollution levels around schools.
Dudley Council warned motorists of the possibility of £20 fines for those who refuse to switch their engines off - and that warning remains on its website.
