SURGEON, TAKEAWAY AND GAS ENGINEER SHAMED FOR NOT PAYING UP

- RICHARD GUTTRIDGE News Reporter

HMRC has released its latest list of taxdodging business and individuals in the West Midlands.

People or firms who fail to pay at least £25,000 in tax are named on public lists by the tax agency.

A plastic surgeon, gas engineer and takeaway were among the latest to be named over unpaid tax bills.

A Birmingham-based payroll services company also owed close to £1 million.

HMRC reveals details of companies and individuals, how much they failed to pay in tax over a certain period and the penalty they have been served with as a result.

Tax bosses say details are released publicly both as a warning to others and in a bid to get those who owe money to cooperate with them.
