Killer youth who turned knife on his victim jailed

A KILLER schoolboy who played on a PlayStation in the hours after he murdered a teenager during a row over “missing cannabis” has been locked up for eight years.

Jahziah Coke's attacker plunged a “sharp” knife into his body with such force that it almost “completely cut through” a rib, leaving him with a fatal 15cm-deep wound.

The murderer then fled the scene, scrambling over fences and boarding a bus before going to a friend’s house.

In the hours after his murderous attack he played on a PlayStation, asked his young friend for bleach and looked at train tickets to Erdington and Paris.

Paramedics found Jahziah “bleeding heavily” at the bottom of stairs after receiving a 999 call from the killer but his heart had stopped and he could not be saved.

The youth stood trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court earlier this year after denying murder and an alternative charge of manslaughter.

In April, jurors convicted him of murder by a majority of 10-2 after deliberating for nine hours and 31 minutes over three days. Yesterday, the killer was detained for life, with a minimum term of eight-and-a-half years.

He cannot legally be named because of his age.
