PHILIP HAVING TO LEARN TO WALK AND TALK AGAIN, SAYS MUM

'Healthy' man suffered brain haemorrhage ordeal after home collapse

A “HEALTHY” Midland man who suffered a “spontaneous” brain haemorrhage and underwent surgery to remove part of his skull is having to learn to walk and talk again.

Philip Masey, 31, an enthusiastic golfer and mortgage adviser from Kidderminster, collapsed at home in February this year without any forewarning.

After failing to contact him for hours and growing worried, his mother, Charlotte Mannouris, 57, from North Leicestershire, discovered him unconscious.

She immediately called for an ambulance, and he was rushed to the hospital.

A scan showed a significant bleed on Philip's brain, leading to emergency surgery where surgeons removed a large section of his skull and placed him in a medically induced coma.

Charlotte was told he might never speak or work again.

Waking up six days later, Philip was disoriented, struggled with solid food, and couldn't form coherent sentences.

However, recent weeks have seen improvements; he can now utter a few words and take about three steps with support.

Currently, Philip is recovering at home, cared for by his mother and family. Charlotte has set up a GoFundMe page to fund home modifications and extra physiotherapy sessions, although she admits there's only a “slim chance” of a full recovery.
