Gang 'carrying weapons' prompt school lockdown

PUPILS WERE TOLD TO 'HIDE UNDER THEIR DESKS'
Shireland Hall Primary Academy in Montague Road, Smethwick
A GANG wearing balaclavas and carrying weapons forced a school to go into lockdown.
It happened at Shireland Hall Primary Academy in Montague Road, Smethwick, on Tuesday afternoon.
Masked men were said to have entered the school's playground and 'threatened children and teachers.
A parent claimed: "Some of the kids saw the group of men wearing balaclavas and with baseball bats in the hands and potentially other weapons"
Children were said to have been told to 'hide under their desks.
