Dykes must continue to make presence felt
Birmingham Mail
|September 23, 2025
BLUES' three-game wait for a victory and a goal ended on Saturday thanks to Lyndon Dykes' latest late show against Swansea.
The Scottish striker stepped off the bench in the 87th minute to power home a header from fellow substitute Patrick Roberts' cross in stoppage time.
In doing so, Dykes sent St Andrew's into delirium and eased the pain of successive away defeats in the Championship to Leicester and Stoke.
Here are the talking points from Blues' third league victory of the season.
Dykes shows what he can do
For all of the qualities Jay Stansfield, Kyogo Furuhashi and Marvin Ducksch bring to the table, albeit Blues do need to see more of the latter, they don't possess what Dykes can offer.
He has only used his physically imposing frame a few times in his St Andrew's career, but when he does it is plain to see he can be a weapon in the division.
