Dunne tells Villa why a Rash move could prove best option

FORMER Villa defender Richard Dunne has thrown his weight behind the club securing the services of Marcus Rashford on a full-time basis this summer - and suggested the Manchester United loanee offers more bang for their buck than Marco Asensio.
Rashford has breathed new life into his Premier League career after leaving United in January for a stint at Villa Park until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old’s impressive tally includes nine appearances for Villa in all competitions - the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup - and he has contributed four assists in that time.
His resurgence in form has also seen Rashford earn a recall to the England squad for the first time since March 2024. Dunne is now advocating Villa prioritise his permanent transfer over that of fellow loanee, PSG's Marco Asensio. Villa hold an option to buy of £40 million.
