Davies' gamble pays off with five-star changes
Birmingham Mail
|October 06, 2025
FOR the second time this year, Wrexham and Birmingham City played out a 1-1 draw at the Racecourse Ground.
Blues' Tomoki Iwata challenged by Ryan Longman at the Racecourse Ground
Friday night's clash started badly for Blues when George Dobson flicked a corner beyond debutant goalkeeper James Beadle but Chris Davies' halftime words reaped rewards.
Jay Stansfield fed Patrick Roberts to net the equaliser 22 seconds after the restart and that is the way it finished in Wales.
Here are our talking points after Blues halted a run of three straight away defeats without scoring...
Whilst a draw with Wrexham and 12 points from nine games isn't anything to write home about as we break for the second round of international fixtures, Blues at least avoided defeat.
Stewing on another loss for the next two weeks wouldn't have been ideal for Davies or supporters.
To give Blues credit, they were in the ascendancy for large parts of the second half and appeared stronger as the match wore on.
