Cor-PHEW as plane lands safely after tyre blow-out

A PILOT bowed to cheering passengers after safely landing a Birmingham-bound plane after a freak accident sparked terror in the skies.

The TUI flight was escorted by a fighter jet on the final leg of its journey from Corfu after a tyre exploded on takeoff. It was diverted to East Midlands Airport.

Dad Kris Sadler, who was on board with his wife Katie and sons Olly, 13, and Zach, nine, recorded the moment it happened and the vibrations it caused to the wing.

"It was scary," Kris, from Telford, told Luxury Travel Daily. "There were bits of tyre flying everywhere.
