BIRMINGHAM boss Chris Adams described himself as 'encouraged, despite experiencing a testing night at King's Lynn.

- By RYAN GUEST

The Curtis Sport Brummies were beaten 49-40 in Norfolk on Monday, but already operating rider replacement at No.1, they were then reduced to five riders when Rising Star Jason Edwards suffered a shoulder injury after being collected by King's Lynn's Jan Kvech while leading Heat Two.

Heat-leader pair Tobiasz Musielak and Matej Zagar both continued their recent fine form, though, as they contributed 28 of the Brummies' points.

But Adams was feeling positive overall and feels they have a good chance of collecting the aggregate point when the sides meet at Perry Barr at the end of the month.

"We were a bit unfortunate in that Heat Two and that knocked the wind out of us straight away," he said. "We battled on but we pretty much had a three-man team in the end because Keynan (Rew) had bike issues pretty much all night and Paco (Castagna) found things tougher.
