A TALE OF LOVE, FAMILY AND TRADITION

Celebration of musical theatre raises the roof

Fiddler on the Roof at The Alexandra Theatre

FIDDLER on the Roof has arrived at The Alexandra Theatre - a classic musical about a Jewish family in the Pale of Settlement of Imperial Russia in 1905.

It follows Tevye, the father of the family (played by Matthew Woodyatt), who is forced to confront his traditions as three of his daughters pursue marriage for love.

And if that wasn’t enough, he also must battle the hardships of poverty, Russian officials, and living in ‘Anatevka’ - a village made up of some seriously nosy parkers.

And whilst it may sound a little heavy, this is not a totally sombre story.

There are themes of love, family, and the personal conflicts that come with tradition, making it a thought-provoking musical that many theatregoers will love.

Trafalgar Theatre Productions have brought Fiddler on the Roof to The Alexandra Theatre and their adaptation is visually stunning.
