SIX BOYS ARRESTED AFTER PUPIL IS LEFT WITH 'SIGNIFICANT INJURIES'

A BOY of 15 suffered “significant injuries” injured when he was stabbed at a Birmingham school.

The incident, branded “appalling” by a police officer, took place at Moseley School, Wake Green Road, shortly before 2pm on Tuesday.

The victim was taken to hospital with two slash injuries to his back, which were not believed to be life-threatening.

Six boys, all aged 13 and 14, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding.

Officers from West Midlands Police have been supporting the victim's family, and working with the school as they examine CCTV and speak to witnesses.

Extra patrols were taking place in the area yesterday.

Det Sgt Shereen Ballintine, from Birmingham CID, said: "This was an appalling attack which has left a teenage boy with significant injuries.
