'Besieged' villagers take to the streets in homes battle

RESIDENTS of a leafy and “tranquil” village near Solihull have taken to the streets over fears they will soon be surrounded by hundreds of new homes.
About 70 “besieged” Hockley Heath residents voiced their fears over the impact a number of development proposals would have on infrastructure.
They plans would bring hundreds of new homes to the village if approved, although some are yet to be submitted to the council.
Currently, the village is surrounded by green belt land. Residents are campaigning against parts of Hockley Heath being reclassified as grey belt, making it easier for developers to build on.
