Be a light for other people, because 'you are the light of the world'

IF we switch the light on, we expect to see the room lit up. We can rely on the invisible electricity which has been generated in a power station many miles away and is so carefully transmitted into our homes via the National Grid and a local system of wires and cables.
The room is illuminated and we can see, rather than being faced with darkness.
In the same way we can be a light to other people, for as Jesus said: “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).
It's always a very happy moment when we are able to do a kindness for someone or to explain how to make something work, and we see the gratitude on the other person's face.
