Anger as school locks up toilets during class

A SOLIHULL school has been accused of leaving pupils at risk of wetting themselves after it locked toilets to children returning for the new academic year.

An angry mum accused Tudor Grange Academy of breaching youngsters’ ‘basic human rights’ after roller shutters were fitted to block access at certain times of the school day.

The backlash was so bad that principal Darren Turner recorded a video defending the decision, which was posted on the school’s website.

The mum, who would not be named, claimed: “They have restricted access to student toilets which includes locking doors and they have fitted a roller shutter for extra restrictions.

“These restrictions resulted in a parent having to collect their child as they had wet themselves. They have just under 2,000 students and two keys to open these toilets. This is a breach of the Human Rights Act and goes against the keeping children safe in education and also child protection”
