LEAH Washington-Pugh who tragically lost her leg in the Smiler rollercoaster crash at Alton Towers has said she still yearns for a “normal life”.
-
Following the crash, she has vowed to support other amputees at a brand new NHS facility.
She, along with her now-husband Joe Pugh, was just 17 and 18 when their Smiler carriage hit another on June 2, 2015.
Ten years later, the now 28-year-old has reflected on the incident that left her “lucky to be where | am now”.
Leah said: “It was a massive shock, obviously, for everybody that's experienced not just a traumatic event but then to also become an amputee from the accident as well.
