WOLVES fullback Nelson Semedo has said an emotional goodbye to the club following the expiry of his contract.

- By DAN NEWBOULD

He has been a loyal servant since joining in September 2020 and held the armband for a period of time.

“The time has arrived and I want to thank you all for these five years, and tell you that you made me grow so much as an athlete and as a person,” said Semedo.

“I always tried my best every single day to represent this club the way it deserves and I made sure I always left the pitch with nothing else to give.

“Things took time, but the club knows I have always been transparent with them because I really want us to be on the level we must be.

“I met beautiful people I will take in my heart and led the club as a captain, you have no idea how proud and happy I am for that.

“I love you and I'll miss you. Once a Wolf always a Wolf. Wolves ay we.” A club statement added: “Nelson will be remembered for his consistent and reliable performances on the pitch, and quiet, humble and hardworking application and leadership off it.
