Thai neutrality key as Mideast war escalates

Thailand, like many other nations, has expressed concern about the risks of terrorism and sabotage that could threaten both citizens and foreign nationals within its borders.In response to the airstrikes conducted by the US and Israel against Iran on Feb 28, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul convened an urgent meeting with the National Security Council and related agencies. This was a swift and well-prepared reaction to the situation.

The government quickly implemented measures to ensure the safety of American, Israeli and Iranian tourists in Thailand. Security protocols have been enhanced at sensitive locations, including embassies, potential conflict zones and popular tourist destinations. These steps aim to ensure public safety and protect foreign nationals amid escalating regional tensions.

The Royal Thai Police and national security personnel are actively working to maintain public order. They are increasing surveillance of suspicious individuals entering and leaving Thailand and monitoring social media platforms to counter disinformation.
