Sutin says current govt 'not as stable'

Veteran Pheu Thai politician Sutin Klungsang admitted the current government isn't as stable as the previous one, though he remained confident it will be back on its feet soon.

Mr Sutin, who served as defence minister under the previous administration under Srettha Thavisin, said recent changes to the coalition government meant the government won't be as stable going forward.

Internal cracks within the coalition have sparked widespread concerns over the future of the administration, especially since the Constitutional Court suspended Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra from duty.

This is pending its ruling on an ethical violation case stemming from her leaked phone conversation with Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen.

"There are mounting problems which have shaken public confidence in the government, but with time and steady focus, the government can regain [people's] trust," Mr Sutin said.
